How far ahead do I need to book my fencing project?
We require a minimum of one week, but during the busy summer months we are often booked as much as 6 weeks in advance. All projects are "first come first served" and we will work with you to schedule your fence as early as possible.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. In order to secure your project on our calendar we collect a deposit equal to 15% of the total cost of your fence.
Do you supply a written contract?
Yes. A simple written contract will be provided to you after your booking is confirmed and must be signed before work on your fence commences.
Can I pay with a credit card?
Yes. Credit card payments are processed online or in person using Square.
How long does a fence installation take?
Most fences, no matter what size, take between 2-5 days. Very large or complicated projects can take longer.
Do you warranty your work?
Yes, we offer a 3 year limited warranty against defects in installation. You will be provided with a warranty certificate after your final invoice has been paid.
How deep will you set my fence posts?
The Fencing Crew sets posts 40 - 44 inches. Taller and heavier fences will be set deeper.
How tall can I build my fence?
Ontario fencing bylaws limit MOST residential fences to 2 metres in height. Some exceptions do exist and we will work with you to determine if a taller fence is permitted.
Do I need a building permit?
In Ontario a fence is not considered a structure and generally does not require a building permit.
I am sharing the cost of my fence with my neighbour. Can you provide separate quotes for us?
Yes. This is a common practice and we are happy to provide separate paperwork for multiple parties.
Are you insured?
We carry a 2 million dollar liability policy with Lloyd's underwriters on every job and our team is covered by WSIB.
My fence was damaged in a storm. Will you provide documentation for my insurance claim?
Yes.
I'm not sure exactly where my property line is. Will you do a survey for me?
No. It is a homeowners responsibility to confirm property lines. This can be done by a surveyor, checking city records or requesting property information from your realtor. Additionally, it is your responsibility to ensure that all boundaries and fence lines are clearly marked before fence construction begins.
I'm not sure if there are gas/water lines in the ground. Can you find them for me?
Yes. It is the law in Ontario to "Call before you dig" and have underground utilities marked before breaking ground.

All of our wooden fence material is supplied by Trans Canada Wood Products. Chain and vinyl products are supplied by Fence Source. We do not purchase materials from the "big box" home stores.
